This vineyard, adjacent to Westerhaus Castle is known for its ice age calcareous dust and tertiary limestone marine deposits that contribute to the complex array of expressions in the wines growing on “Castle Hill”.  The Riesling Eiswein here is a perfect expression of the elements and craftsmanship that come together in a quintessential handmade German Eiswein.  A citrus bouquet and hints of butterscotch and custard emanate from the luxurious dessert wine that starts with a refined freshness of key lime pie and ends with the satisfaction of a rich flan caramel custard.
