2017 Schwabenheimer Sonnenberg Spatburgunder Trockenbeerenauslese TBA Goldene Kammerpreismunze Club 375ml

This 2017 Goldene Kammerpeismunze (“Golden Chamber Prize Medal”) winner is the utterly luxurious result of the extremely labor intensive process of crafting a Trocknbeerenausle (TBA) at the highest level.  The Spatburgunder (Pinot Noir) grapes are allowed to dry and freeze on the vine, then are individually selected and hand picked if they meet the standards to create a TBA.  This meticulous process results in the highest sugar content of all dessert wines along with acidity to create a decadent nectar that just gets better with age.  Hints of cherry blossoms, honey and truffle emanate from this full-bodied amber rose of suberb clarity.  There hasn’t been a year with the proper climate conditions to craft a traditional TBA in Germany since 2018, and this 2017 vintage won the highest honor awarded by the Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft for that year.
